General Questions

Who can post available pets on Wagaroo?

  • Individual owners who need to re-home their pet.

Can you tell me more about Wagaroo's Family2Family Program (Owner Rehoming)?

  • It is very difficult to find yourself in need of rehoming a pet. We are here to help. Wagaroo offers a free, easy to use online listing for pets. We want you to meet a wonderful adoptive individual or family for your pet and have an excellent customer experience while doing so!
  • National animal organizations like ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society recommend that owners charge an adoption fee for their pet to "discourage anyone with malicious intentions" (You can read the Best Friends rehoming guidelines here). Unfortunately, backyard breeders and puppy/kitten mills know about this advice and use it to trick buyers. These businesses create online and/or newspaper ads and pretend to be a rehoming owner. Then they charge high "adoption" fees, but they are really just selling animals. Sometimes, people that steal pets resell them this way as well. At Wagaroo, we don't want to work with people that lie in order to sell pets. We also don't want to be a forum for people to sell stolen pets. Owners in the Wagaroo rehoming program agree not to accept any money for their pet. Instead, owners agree to ask the new adopter for a fee that can be paid through this Wagaroo Paypal link. This fee is used to support our operating costs and to continue to offer our services at no cost to rehoming families. Please email spot@wagaroo.com if you have any questions.

What pets are currently available on Wagaroo?

  • Wagaroo's Family2Family program is open to owners within the continental United States who need to rehome their dog or cat.

Where does the information on a pet's Wagaroo profile page come from?

  • Wagaroo allows owners to post photos, video, and descriptive information about the animals in their care. Wagaroo does not and cannot guarantee the accuracy and validity of animal information entered by its users. All information about the pets featured on Wagaroo is provided by the individual that is listing the pet for adoption. Any additional questions about the pet should be directed to that individual. Contact information can be found on the pet's Wagaroo page. ‚Äč

How can I learn more about a pet, particularly when some information is listed as "Unsure"?

  • On occasion, information may not be available about certain aspects of a pet.  For instance, if a dog has never interacted with cats before, they may be listed as "unsure" with respect to whether or not they are cat friendly. Other times, we can find out more information for you!  So, please feel free to email us at spot@wagaroo.com with any questions you may have.

Why can't I receive an adoption fee for my pet? I've read that I shouldn't give my pet away for free.
